Greg Attonito (lead singer of legendary punk act,The Bouncing Souls) and his wife/singer-songwriter/actress, Shanti Wintergate. Accompanied by Kepi Ghoulie (lead singer of seminal 60’s pop style Ramones-core band The Groovy Ghoulies) and Kevin Seconds (7 Seconds) have hit the road with nothing more than their vespas, acoustic guitars and a camera fit to document the trip. More Friends! Check it out.
Just added two more bands to the Friends section of mydeadindustry.com
http://www.mydeadindustry.com/Friends.html
Lee Corey Oswald (http://www.myspace.com/leecoreyoswald)
Acoustic-Punk/Folk
LCO recently moved to Portland, Or from Scranton, Pa, where they met. Lee and Corey have been dear friends for a few years now. I met them while buying awesome drugs from Corey’s old roommate. At the time, they were in a great band called Dinosores. They, like everyone else but Tigers Jaw, grew overwhelmingly unsatisfied with the fruitless efforts of being a band in Scranton, and moved out west. It’s a good thing they did. Since this coastal leap, lee, corey and our other friend Rich Bennet have found themselves involved in some really killer projects. Check Em Out.
Monarques (http://www.myspace.com/monarquesmusic)
Rich Bennett (http://www.myspace.com/richbennettmusic)
Dinosores (http://www.myspace.com/dinosoresmusic)
There’s more, but i forget. Sorry guys. I’ll add ‘em tomorrow when i peel corey off my couch and have him remind me.
Risus Sardonicus (http://www.myspace.com/risussardonicuspa)
Indie-Punk (ex Dead Radical)
When i think about Risus Sardonicus, I’m about as excited as a guy can be about a band. Jon (lead guitar/lead vocals) is a dear friend of mine and easily one of my favorite musicians of all time. Their new album is the culmination of too many troubles. Makes for a sad story, but fortunately for us, a great band.
Dead Radical (http://www.myspace.com/deadradical)
Nimbus Terrifix (http://www.myspace.com/nimbusterrifix) DR split up into Nimbus and Risus
Expect to see full albums up for free download here from Lee Corey Oswald, Risus Sardonicus, Nimbus Terrifix, and many many more!
Scranton Invasion Mini-Tour! Feat. Kite Party, Three Man Cannon, & Captain, We’re Sinking!
This is exciting. All the shows worked out to be really killer line-ups. Beyond that, this is particularly exciting because Three Man Cannon (feat. Matt, the quiet Aryan-looking fellow behind the soundboard at Ava House, and Pat and Dennis from Tigers Jaw) has been a stagnant idea that was left seemingly abandoned by the dissipation of the once great Scranton punk scene that centered around Test Pattern and Embassy Vinyl.
Now back in action these bastards are comin’ back strong. Their journey with Kite Party (http://www.myspace.com/kiteparty) and Captain, We’re Sinking! (http://www.myspace.com/captainweresinking) will be sharing stages with Lemuria, The Menzingers, Tigers Jaw, Pretty Boy Thorson and more! You won’t wanna miss any of these shows.
538 Johnson #208 Brooklyn, NY March 5th
Kite Party, Three Man Cannon, Captain, We’re Sinking!
w/ Lemuria, and The Menzingers
Cafe Metropolis Wilkes-Barre, PA March 6th
w/ Tigers Jaw
Ava House South Philly, PA March 7th
w/ Pretty Boy Thorson, and The Howling Fantods
Glocca Morra Tour!
Forming under odd circumstances, (Aric (drums) met childhood friends, Jp (bass) and Zack (guitar/vox) as their substitute teacher in Miami.) They moved to Philly on a relative whim this past summer. After meeting Steve-o from The Holy Mess (http://www.myspace.com/fucktheholymess) in an Urban Outfiiters, they quickly became a cherished part of our ever expanding community.
Download their Museum Mouth EP (http://www.mydeadindustry.com/Media.html) and keep your eyes peeled for their upcoming Split 7” with The Greek Favourites. Should be up for free download right here!
Catch them kickoff their first tour out of philly at Ava House this thursday with The Greek Favourites, Paper Lanterns (members of the holy mess) and South Philly’s best…The Dangerous Ponies!
